Trolual is the name given to a sea monster present in ancient tales of sailors and fishermen of the Norwegian Sea (Iceland and the Faroe Islands). Appearing in European literature in the 16th century, it would in reality designate a whale or a sperm whale whose dangerousness, exaggerated, is attributed to an evil nature.
