The snake-like sea serpent is a Champagne type of sea serpent reported only from the Atlantic Ocean. Sea serpents in this category are described as scaled, snake-like lateral undulators 20–59 ft (6–17 m) in length. Reported mainly from estuaries and coastal waters, Bruce A. Champagne suggests that it may have been displaced or wiped out in recent times.[1]
