The ropen is a neopterosaur cryptid reported from New Guinea. Although descriptions vary, it is usually described as bat-like or pterosaur-like.[1] It also has a characteristic of bioluminescence. The ropen has received much attention from creationists who believe the discovery of a live pterosaur would overturn current scientific theories about evolution and the age of the earth.[2]
