Proto-pigmy or proto-pygmy is a term coined by Ivan T. Sanderson to refer to small hominids such as the orang-pendek, sehite, agogwe, and teh-lma. Sanderson considered these to be humans, and possibly the ancestors of the pygmies of Central Africa.[1]
