The nzemendim or ndzin médzim (Fang: "river tiger"), also called the yango ("water elephant"), nkweu dzibo ("water tiger"), ndamballa ("water tiger"), or simply dzin, was a water lion reported from Gabon and Cameroon.[1][2] It was the first water lion known to Europeans, and was originally speculated to be a kind of giant otter.
