The ndegi (Mbuti: "bird") was a cryptid reported from the Ituri Rainforest, in the northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.[2] It was described by the Mbuti people to Attilio Gatti as an enormous flying bird taller than a man, but was also said to be covered with "thick, heavy hair" all over, except for its feathered wings, and to have a monkey-like head.[1]
