
Michel Raynal (born 1955) is a French cryptozoologist who is webmaster of the Virtual Institute of Cryptozoology. As of 1999 he had authored more than thirty articles on cryptozoology.[1] He has done substantial research on the giant octopus, and along with Loren Coleman posited that the De Loys' ape was hoax carried out to support a theory that primate evolution occured independently in South America.[2]
