The maribunda is a cryptid primate reported from the Orinoco Basin in Venezuela. It is described as slim and 5' tall whilst staning upright, with a prehensile tail. Its call sounds like a human voice. George Eberhart suggests it may be a white-bellied spider monkey, but these animals stand no more than 3' 7'' at the most. The name "maribunda" is also similar to "marimonda", the name used for the white-bellied spider monkey in Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela itself.[1][2]
