A lake monster is a term used to refer to cryptids that are confined to lakes. According to Loren Coleman and Jerome Clark, over 300 lakes are estimated to have lake monster reports.[1] Notable lake monsters include the Loch Ness monster, Iliamna Lake monster, and the Lake Tanganyika monster.
