Eugene Thomas (circa 1927 - 21 December 2005) was an American missionary in the Republic of the Congo noted for the help he gave to cryptozoologists searching for the mokele-mbembe, in particular Roy P. Mackal and Bill Gibbons. He was the first person to report the alleged 1959 killing of a mokele-mbembe at Lake Tele. He also claimed to have had two personal encounters with the mokele-mbembe, in 1979 and 1989.[1]
