The Bei (狈) is a creature from Chinese folklore[1]. It is said to resemble a wolf in appearance but has extremely short forelimbs (some accounts claim it lacks forelimbs altogether), making it difficult to move. Thus, it rides atop a wolf (a canine with extremely short hind legs) [2]and collaborates with the latter in hunting.
