Beast of Brunei

The beast of Brunei.

The "beast of Brunei" was a supposed unidentified aquatic invertebrate, represented by a user of the animal identification website Project Noah as having been captured and photographed in the Bornean nation of Brunei in 2013. Various commentators, including cryptozoologist Karl Shuker, noted the resemblance to a trilobite beetle (Platerodrilus sp.), except for a pair of earwig-like pincers at the end of its body.[1]

The photograph had previously been shared on social media, and the animal was originally reported as having been captured in Sweden's Nissan River. In October 2023, Swedish filmmaker Stefan Rydehed told Hallandsposten that the creature was a model he had built for fun.[2]
